Cuisinart PSC-350 3-1/2-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker Review

The Cuisinart PSC-350 3-1/2-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker is the perfect slow cooker for smaller families. I have always loved the Cuisinart brand, to me it is a name I can trust and the slow cooker lives up to the high expectations that I have for Cuisinart. The 3-1/2-Quart ceramic pot is perfect for cooking soups, casseroles or anything else I need to cook for my small family. I can even use it for dips for parties, such as Super Bowl because it holds enough dip to feed a large crowd.

Cuisinart PSC-350 3-1/2-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker Review

Like all other slow cookers out there, the best thing about this one is that I can prepare dinner during the day while I am out busy running errands or taking my kid to and from practice. All I have to do is place everything inside the ceramic pot in the morning turn it on, set the cooking time, and dinner will be done and warm when we are ready to eat. I can even leave the slow cooker on the counter when I am gone without a fear of my cat knocking it over if she jumps up to investigate due to the nonslip rubber feet.

Pros

Three cooking settings. One of the things that other slow cookers are missing is an even lower temperature setting. The Cuisinart PSC-350 comes with three cooking settings, high, low, and simmer. The simmer setting is the best setting because it truly slow cooks things like legs of lamb or roasts at 185 degrees rather than 200 degrees.

Automatically switches over to the keep warm setting. With this slow cooker once the cooking is done, based on what you set the timer for, the slow cooker will automatically switch over to the keep warm setting. This is a great feature because it ensures that no matter what time I am ready to eat my food will be warm, but not overcooked. One thing to keep in mind with the keep warm setting is that it will continue cooking your food at 165 degrees, so if you plan to use it for an extended period of time you might want to lower your cooking time. The automatic keep warm setting will also shut off after eight hours.

24-hour countdown timer. This cooking timer can be set for up to 24 hours, which makes it a great slow cooker if you plan to cook beans or something similar overnight. The control panel is a touch screen panel that is all digital making it even easier to read. Comes with a cookbook. Not everybody has recipes for slow cookers, so the 50 recipes that come included with this slow cooker is nice. Not only do the recipes come with ingredients and directions, but they also come with nutritional information. Users can get the number of servings, calories, protein, sodium, and all other amounts that you find on the back of food labels, which is great for calorie counters.

Cons

Programmable feature could be better. In my opinion, a programmable feature on a slow cooker should come with a time delay option, which allows users to pick what time the slow cooker starts cooking. Another nice feature would be the ability to switch cooking settings while cooking because many recipes require starting out on high and switching to low or simmer after several hours.

Cuisinart PSC-350 3-1/2-Quart is the perfect slow cooker for single people or small families. The high quality construction is nice because it reassures the consumer that everything they are getting is high quality, no worries about it breaking after being used once or twice. The stainless steel housing is also easy to clean, and it can all be had for an affordable price.
